Sensor Dry
A dryer mode that uses moisture sensors inside the drum to stop the cycle when the load is dry.
Definition
Sensor Dry is a dryer mode that uses two metal sensor strips inside the drum to detect moisture in the load. As the load tumbles, damp clothes briefly bridge the strips, completing a circuit; the controller measures how often this happens and ends the cycle when the rate drops below a threshold. Sensor Dry prevents over-drying (the leading cause of fabric wear and shrinkage) and saves energy compared to Timed Dry. Wipe the sensor strips with rubbing alcohol monthly to prevent fabric softener residue from interfering with the sensor.
